With a background in intellectual property law, Dan Vandon has earned law degrees in several countries, a chore that led to perfecting the tools and techniques presented in Red Rubber Duck’s Learning & Study Skill Guide. "Red Rubber Duck's Learning & Study Skill Guide" is Dan Vandon’s personal recipe for dealing with an overflow of information and mastering exams — challenges faced by all students.

Dan Vandon on studying and learning:
"Especially when dealing with new abstract information, the more active you are in the learning process, the more likely you will be to understand and recall information over time. Apart from the use of learning tools and techniques, I, personally, consider this to be the single most important factor when it comes to the field of studying and learning. People expect the perfect teacher, the perfect institution, the perfect book or the perfect technique to help them gain knowledge easily. In fact, they mentally, and often subconsciously, delegate the responsibility for their results to one of these other entities.
Unfortunately, even the most suitable and well-developed learning and teaching aids will not result in outstanding results if the learner does not take an active role in making learning and understanding happen. Without an active attitude and some sweating, results will usually be limited. “Active” means that we take over the initiative, that we make a deliberate physical and mental effort because we want to learn.
The sports world has a saying: 'No pain, no gain.' You will not finish the race by reading about running and buying socks — you have to prepare by taking part in training. That doesn’t mean you have to run a marathon every day to train; however, a well-structured training plan that you actually follow will prove more than helpful. With respect to studying and learning, I would change that slogan to 'No focused effort, no gain.' You gain by focusing. So when will you start running instead of reading and talking about it?"
